Close to Home

The photographs in these portfolios were created while on daily walks or canoe trips with a handheld camera. They are visual note taking: a chance to look at new subjects without the histories and goals that frame my long-term projects. The images result from a type of undirected play and a need to exercise my visual acuity and my ability to concentrate, still myself, and be open to new picture making possibilities.
